Alright, alright, I understand that this is old news and I look like a total n00b for posting it now rather than a couple of weeks ago when it popped up, but when I found this new, I had to post it. For those of you that don’t know who Drew Karpyshyn is, let me fill you in on who he is, what he has done, and what he might be able to bring to the SWTOR team. If you’re not as excited as I am after reading this post, then I don’t really know what I can say to excite you other than to give you the release date for SWTOR…Which I can’t.

Anyways!!! Please welcome Drew Karpyshyn to the BioWare Austin team.

For those of you that have been a follower of BioWare, chances are, you’ve played Mass Effect and Knights of the Old Republic. If you have, you might have noticed that for some reason, you really enjoyed the writing in the games. You loved the dialogue and how the different characters really came to life and had their own opinions. Alright, maybe that was what I felt when I played the game, but as a lot of people already know about me, story is one of the most important aspects of the game and is what I am most excited about.

On top of the games that he has been a part of, Drew has also written two (and has submitted a third) Star Wars novels. They are the novels of Darth Bane and his creation of the Rule of Two. I’ve read quite a few Star Wars novels and Drew’s were, without a doubt, my absolute favorite. They just had something about them that were amazing. I was on the train once coming back from my fiance’s and I read the entire second novel that he wrote and still had time to study for an exam.

With Drew coming to BioWare, it’ll add a really seasoned writer in both Star Wars and BioWare games to the team. I hope that he’ll be able to add some incredible content to the game. I love his writing and with him added to the team, I can only see great things coming. One of the questions that people are asking is if his days working on Mass Effect 2 are over. According to Drew, he is going to work on the game even in Austin. So, he’ll be writing for two games.

I just want this game to come out already so that I can play! I am really excited to learn about the story. I can learn more about this era in Star Wars history and that’s something that I always love. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see…
