  • Revan Storyline Will Be Revealed in TOR, Erickson Says 3 CommentsPosted by on August 10, 2010 under General TOR
In a great interview with Daniel Erickson, he talked extensively about the story behind Star Wars: The Old Republic. While a lot of the content revealed in the article is stuff that we already know, I wanted to write a piece about it because there were some quotes in it that really stuck out for me. And, it really made me understand why I am so incredibly pumped about TOR. The first thing he ta... more.
  • Timeline: The Mandalorian Wars 0 CommentsPosted by on under News
Why did Revan and Malak fall to the Dark Side? We know that they met up with the Sith Emperor, but the reason why they fell to begin with starts long before meeting that Emperor. The reason for their fall was documented in Friday's Timeline reveal titled The Mandalorian Wars. For those that remember playing KOTOR, this is the war that takes place right before the events of the game. The Mandaloria... more.
  • Four New Races Revealed 7 CommentsPosted by on August 6, 2010 under Featured Content, News
With the news today, four new races were revealed specific to a certain class. These races were specific to the force users and add to the Rattataki as a Bounty Hunter, Chiss as an Imperial Agent and Twi'lek as a Smuggler. This leaves just the Trooper without a secondary race. The Jedi Knight, Jedi Consular, Sith Warrior and Sith Inquisitor each got their own class today. While my opinion about th... more.
  • Interview With Animosity Guild 35 CommentsPosted by on August 4, 2010 under Featured Content, Podcasts, Predictions, Opinion and Analysis
I want to introduce the readers of TORUniverse.com to a new feature that I'll be doing over the next months leading up to the release of Star Wars: The Old Republic. One of the things a lot of people say about playing an MMO is that if you really want to succeed and level up, you need to be part of a guild. They make the leveling easier and therefore you can enjoy the game more. Because of this... more.
  • Blood of the Empire: Issue 8 0 CommentsPosted by on August 1, 2010 under News
The next issue of the Blood of the Empire series was released on Friday. This issue continues our journey with Teneb Kel as he tries to hunt down the Emperor's old apprentice. However, most of the comic does appear to be a dream that he is experiencing. This is an interesting twist and it leaves me with one question: who is the guy with that interest face mask? I'll elaborate more below If you ... more.
  • Nar Shaddaa is Announced as Playable 0 CommentsPosted by on July 30, 2010 under News
While I thought that they had released all of their planets for their release, apparently BioWare has a lot more planned. They announced today that Nar Shaddaa will be a playable area in the game. For those that don't know, Nar Shaddaa is the moon of Hutta and therefore, is very close to the planet. It is a rich and glamorous, yet gruesome place controlled by the Hutts. To give a better idea of th... more.
  • What Space Combat Might Look Like 4 CommentsPosted by on July 28, 2010 under Featured Content, Predictions, Opinion and Analysis
When James Ohlen confirmed space combat last weekend at Comic Con, so many people were excited. One of the main reasons I was so excited about Star Wars: The Old Republic was because I knew, deep down inside, that there was going to be space combat. Whether it was as expansive as other games or if it was more limited, I knew that BioWare would not keep a pivotal part of Star Wars out of the game. ... more.

It was announced on Monday that EA had chosen Live Gamer to handle the micro-transactions for EA's games. Specifically, they chose the platform Elements to handle all of the different transactions in the hopes of maximizing revenue. This presents a question for many people who are pumped about Star Wars: The Old Republic, but are not looking forward to the possibility of micro-transactions. Are we... more.
  • TOR on a Mac 6 CommentsPosted by on July 26, 2010 under Predictions, Opinion and Analysis
On a recent journey to the Apple store--my wife was shopping, so I decided to take advantage of the free Internet--I realized that I really found the iMac to be a fantastic machine. And, as I was sitting there enjoying the computer, I realized that I could see myself owning one of these. Except, one thing kept going through my head. Would BioWare release The Old Republic on the Mac or would they j... more.

Despite the fact the community was unable to get 30,000 people to follow SWTOR on Twitter and to get the hundreds of thousands of needed likes on Facebook, much was revealed today at the "Crafting the Multiplayer Story" at Comic-Con San Diego. And, as I was able to predict, the biggest thing people have been wondering about Star Wars: The Old Republic was revealed today. There will be space combat... more.
