  • Beta Testing Rumors Suggest This Weekend 1 CommentsPosted by on June 24, 2010 under General TOR
A thread popped up on the SWTOR forum that suggested that Beta was going to start, albeit a tiny one, June 25 and was going to last until June 27. In this thread, it's suggested that only about 100-200 people are going to be accepted at this time to do some beta work and that it is going to be an incredibly short beta. What this looks like to me is a beta of the beta. Not quite an alpha, but not q... more.

  • What Happened at E3 Today – E3 2010 6 CommentsPosted by on June 15, 2010 under Featured Content, General TOR
To begin with, let me say that E3 has been both amazing and slightly disappointing when it comes to Star Wars: The Old Republic. The only disappointing part was today's G4TV interview where almost nothing new was revealed. But, with some careful dissection, I was able to piece together at least a little speculation. But, we'll get there. I wanted to do a quick wrap up of everything that went down ... more.

Video game producers will try and sell their product--or the idea of their product since they're not released yet--and show people why they should be excited about their game. As followers of Star Wars: The Old Republic, we have been waiting for this day since last year's E3. Last year, we got the amazing Deceived cinematic trailer. We also learned that they were goi... more.

But, the release makes complete sense considering E3 is right around the corner. There is going to be a huge influx of people checking out SWTOR.com, so a simple Timeline makes good s... more.
  • Humanizing the Sith 12 CommentsPosted by on June 9, 2010 under General TOR
In nearly every version of the Sith--be it from the movies or from the extended universe--they are always an incredibly evil group of people who, with the help of the dark side, cause grief and destruction in pursuit of their overall goal of galactic domination. However, I wonder if it is possible to humanize the Sith and make them more than just this purely evil form. I came across this topic ... more.
  • A Look at Combat in The Old Republic 0 CommentsPosted by on April 29, 2010 under Featured Content, Predictions, Opinion and Analysis
In the Star Wars universe, almost no game can really be a success unless there is some intense combat. While KOTOR I and II were great games, it relied entirely on the story because, truthfully, the combat was nothing. Fortunately, BioWare is looking to make combat a serious addition to TOR. In a recent video documentary, they talked about what combat is going to be like in the game. On top of tha... more.
  • Timeline: Peace for the Republic? 0 CommentsPosted by on April 26, 2010 under General TOR
In another update of the Timeline series, we got a little more of the story on what was going on the centuries leading up to the onslaught of the Sith Empire. Specifically, what was it that the Sith were doing while the Jedi were recovering from their Civil War and Revan? Once again, BioWare has created a story that had me on the edge of my seat. There are a few things that really stood out for... more.
