The first act of the Threat of Peace comic being created by Bioware and Dark Horse Comics was released this past Friday. The comic is short, three pages in total, each with very little substance. By the looks of it, this first act is introducing the first overt attacks from the Sith Empire to Coruscant, which is the capital of the Galactic Republic . You can find the comic at the Star Wars... more. -

MMORPG games take place on huge open terrains where the character is free to explore every inch of the digital world. In World of Warcraft, the game takes place on a single planet, or through a portal to another dimension. Star Wars, however, consists of an enormous galaxy with many star systems, each one containing a large number of planets. In the MMORPG nature, many of these planets will... more. -

A major part of all MMORPGs is the death and respawn system. Each game has a somewhat unique take on being killed in its living, breathing world. For example, Star Wars Galaxies has a cloning system, where you die and then are cloned at the nearest town with somewhat damaged items and wound damage (damage that does not heal over time). World of Warcraft has a corpse running system. When... more. -

While browsing youtube the other day, I stumbled on this video created by the sith guild, The Exodus Syndicate as a means of promotion and recruitment. The video is very well done with action packed and choreographed lightsaber fights. Combine that with flawless special effects and realistic sets and costumes, and you get this fantastic display of Star Wars tribute. As an aspiring film ... more. -

When I look back on the Star Wars films that have been released, I can think of only one instance where a man with a blaster singlehandedly takes out a Jedi, and that is when Jango Fett shot and killed Jedi Council Member, Coleman Trebor in Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones, shortly before being beheaded by Mace Windu. Even then, Fett shot Trebor while he was distracted with Cout... more. -

Star Wars Galaxies: What Aspects Should NOT be Included in TOR?

Although to this day I still consider Star Wars Galaxies as I remember it to be the greatest game I've ever played, it was not without its flaws. Some of them were large while others were hardly noticable. In continuation of my previous article, "Star Wars Galaxies: What Aspects Should be Included in TOR?" I have assembled a list of aspects of SWG that I pray do not make it into TOR. 1.Ignori... more. -
Can Bioware Pull it Off?

I understand that in an MMORPG you need a rich and compelling story to keep the players in the world, and there is no better example of that than the Star Wars universe, but as excited as I am about Bioware's upcoming MMO, I find myself concerned about their approach to character inetaction and how it affects story. I understand that Bioware's track record doesn't fail them in regards to char... more.
