  • Space Combat in Star Wars: The Old Republic 5 CommentsPosted by on August 18, 2010 under Featured Content, Predictions, Opinion and Analysis
I have been avoiding this topic for a little while because it is one that is difficult for me. Space combat is an integral part of Star Wars: The Old Republic. I wrote about it back in the beginning of the year and then I wrote about it again only a few weeks ago. I was right that they were going to release space combat, but I was incredibly wrong about how they were going to do it. There's a good... more.
  • Interview With the Smugglers Union 7 CommentsPosted by on under Featured Content, Podcasts, Predictions, Opinion and Analysis
Since the interview with Animosity-Guild was so successful, I decided that I would do another one, but this time, gear it toward a Republic leaning guild. This time around, I had a head set mic so I didn't sound like I was in a space ship, so I was pleased with how it turned out. As I mentioned in the first interview, this is a new resource I am putting together for members as the game gets closer... more.
  • Advanced Classes of the Jedi Knight Revealed 0 CommentsPosted by on under Featured Content, News
In a release that I had been personally waiting for, BioWare announced on Friday what the two advanced classes of the Jedi Knight were. Before I go into detail about them, let me just start by saying that it's about freaking time. I intend on playing as the Jedi Knight first and I was a little frustrated with how little was being provided to us. However, BioWare didn't disappoint and they released... more.
  • Four New Races Revealed 7 CommentsPosted by on August 6, 2010 under Featured Content, News
With the news today, four new races were revealed specific to a certain class. These races were specific to the force users and add to the Rattataki as a Bounty Hunter, Chiss as an Imperial Agent and Twi'lek as a Smuggler. This leaves just the Trooper without a secondary race. The Jedi Knight, Jedi Consular, Sith Warrior and Sith Inquisitor each got their own class today. While my opinion about th... more.
  • Interview With Animosity Guild 35 CommentsPosted by on August 4, 2010 under Featured Content, Podcasts, Predictions, Opinion and Analysis
I want to introduce the readers of TORUniverse.com to a new feature that I'll be doing over the next months leading up to the release of Star Wars: The Old Republic. One of the things a lot of people say about playing an MMO is that if you really want to succeed and level up, you need to be part of a guild. They make the leveling easier and therefore you can enjoy the game more. Because of this... more.
  • What Space Combat Might Look Like 4 CommentsPosted by on July 28, 2010 under Featured Content, Predictions, Opinion and Analysis
When James Ohlen confirmed space combat last weekend at Comic Con, so many people were excited. One of the main reasons I was so excited about Star Wars: The Old Republic was because I knew, deep down inside, that there was going to be space combat. Whether it was as expansive as other games or if it was more limited, I knew that BioWare would not keep a pivotal part of Star Wars out of the game. ... more.
  • Comic-Con: Crafting the Multiplayer Story 6 CommentsPosted by on July 23, 2010 under Featured Content, News
Despite the fact the community was unable to get 30,000 people to follow SWTOR on Twitter and to get the hundreds of thousands of needed likes on Facebook, much was revealed today at the "Crafting the Multiplayer Story" at Comic-Con San Diego. And, as I was able to predict, the biggest thing people have been wondering about Star Wars: The Old Republic was revealed today. There will be space combat... more.
  • Aliens Won’t be Class Specific 0 CommentsPosted by on under Featured Content, Predictions, Opinion and Analysis
In my perusing around the web, I happened upon an incredibly intelligent and well documented editorial titled Don't Be Surprised if Aliens Are Class-Specific. Instead of commenting on the article, I thought I'd write my retort here because I do disagree with the general thesis. I don't see aliens being class specific because it contradicts so much that BioWare has been talking about for the game. ... more.
  • Music and Sound in Star Wars: The Old Republic 0 CommentsPosted by on July 19, 2010 under Featured Content, General TOR
While story is important and the combat must be enjoyable, one of the reasons that Star Wars is so enjoyable is because of the music created by John Williams. And, while he is not a composer for TOR, LucasArts and BioWare knew that they needed to create music that really fit with the game. And, they also knew that the sounds needed to sound epic because we can all remember the sound of a lightsabe... more.
  • Game Testing Begins 0 CommentsPosted by on July 10, 2010 under Featured Content, News
And so the rumors were true! The game testing for Star Wars: The Old Republic has begun. A few weeks ago, I wrote about how there were rumors that the testing had already begun--and it is quite possible that it had--but now BioWare released an update saying that testing was, in fact, underway. While we all knew this somewhere inside, now it is confirmed. What I am finding very interesting about... more.
