  • No News! 0 CommentsPosted by on April 20, 2009 under General TOR, Predictions, Opinion and Analysis
I spent this past Friday anxiously clicking on "Refresh" in my browser window on http://www.swtor.com just waiting for the new news to be posted as it has been for the past couple of Fridays.  But to my sorrow there was no news on Friday, nor on Saturday, not Sunday either, and here we are on Monday with no new news to speak of. Now as disappointed as I am that there is no news for me to write... more.
  • Classes Specific to Factions Can Be a Good Thing 0 CommentsPosted by on April 9, 2009 under General TOR, Predictions, Opinion and Analysis
After reading the blog post that Chris wrote on Friday about the bounty hunter class and what they are planning for it, I had to take some time to think about it and see how I felt about it. After taking that time, I was able to finally form a pretty good opinion about it. The one part that stuck out to me was that, for the time being, there would be no cross over of classes. If you sign up and de... more.
  • Gear and Skills Would be the Best – Not Just Gear 1 CommentsPosted by on February 28, 2009 under General TOR, Predictions, Opinion and Analysis
I remember the first time that I ever played World of Warcraft. My brother had the highest level he could have on his character (I can’t remember what kind) and he had to go to bed because of school and I was already off for Summer break. So, I played the game. He said to me to wake him up if I came across any gear in the raid that was purple because that was the best gear to get. I was think... more.
  • “You Shall Be Known as Darth…” 0 CommentsPosted by on February 25, 2009 under General TOR, Predictions, Opinion and Analysis
When I look at Star Wars, there are a few things that are absolutely certain. There is going to be some sort of a space battle, blasters galore are going to appear, and most importantly, there is going to be an epic lightsaber battle between a Jedi and a Sith. The Sith always has the name "Darth something." A quick recap of the movies, you've got: Darth Maul, Darth Tyrannus, Darth Sidious, Darth V... more.
  • Banthas, Speeders, and Skiffs…Oh My! 0 CommentsPosted by on February 24, 2009 under General TOR, Predictions, Opinion and Analysis
MMORPG games take place on huge open terrains where the character is free to explore every inch of the digital world.  In World of Warcraft, the game takes place on a single planet, or through a portal to another dimension.  Star Wars, however, consists of an enormous galaxy with many star systems, each one containing a large number of planets.  In the MMORPG nature, many of these planets will... more.
  • “If You Strike Me Down…” 0 CommentsPosted by on February 19, 2009 under General TOR, Predictions, Opinion and Analysis
A major part of all MMORPGs is the death and respawn system.  Each game has a somewhat unique take on being killed in its living, breathing world. For example, Star Wars Galaxies has a cloning system, where you die and then are cloned at the nearest town with somewhat damaged items and wound damage (damage that does not heal over time). World of Warcraft has a corpse running system.  When... more.
  • When Can We Expect to See The Old Republic 0 CommentsPosted by on February 4, 2009 under General TOR, Predictions, Opinion and Analysis
The question most of us are probably asking as we sit in front of our computers, mind rolling with possibilities about what The Old Republic could give to usand Fan Friday making us go mad, is when the heck is the game going to be released. When can we expect to play the game and, furthermore, when can I finally be the all powerful Jedi who goes to war against all Sith? Yes...I want to be a Je... more.

When I look back on the Star Wars films that have been released, I can think of only one instance where a man with a blaster singlehandedly takes out a Jedi, and that is when Jango Fett shot and killed Jedi Council Member, Coleman Trebor in Star Wars Episode II:  Attack of the Clones, shortly before being beheaded by Mace Windu.  Even then, Fett shot Trebor while he was distracted with Cout... more.
  • Stay Away From Microtransactions, Bioware 0 CommentsPosted by on January 26, 2009 under General TOR, Predictions, Opinion and Analysis
When the game was announced, there were whispers that went through the grapevine about what the payment structure was going to be. Would you be paying a flat $15.00 a month fee like you have to do when you play WoW? Or, would there be the dreaded microtransaction that allowed for you to play for free, but as you got more and more serious and wanted to get more gear and the such, you had to start p... more.
  • Star Wars Galaxies: What Aspects Should NOT be Included in TOR? 0 CommentsPosted by on January 22, 2009 under General TOR, Predictions, Opinion and Analysis
Although to this day I still consider Star Wars Galaxies as I remember it to be the greatest game I've ever played, it was not without its flaws. Some of them were large while others were hardly noticable. In continuation of my previous article, "Star Wars Galaxies: What Aspects Should be Included in TOR?" I have assembled a list of aspects of SWG that I pray do not make it into TOR. 1.Ignori... more.
